THE ITALIAN’ HEAVEN – LAKE COMO

Lake Como lies between Milan and the border of Switzerland. It’s southern tip is about 40km north of Milan. The lake covers an area of 146 sq km and it’s surrounded by both high mountains and hills, beautiful villas and resort villages and raging torrents and big rivers. Lake Como (Lago di Como in Italian), is a jewel-like oasis of tranquility, a magical combination of lush Mediterranean foliage and snowy alpine peaks.

Lake Como is shaped like of an inverted “Y” which was caused by glaciers moving through the valley. In the middle of the lake where the two arms of the “Y” converge, sits Bellagio, often referred to as the jewel of the lake and also as one of the most romantic of all the towns of Italy. Visitors ever since have admired the blue waters and relaxed in luxurious villas in the wooded lakeside slopes above. Probably the most famous one is Villa Carlotta, a perfect combination of luxurious interiors (beautiful stuccos, lovely ceiling frescoes and a great art collection) and luxuriant exteriors (over 500 species of plants, trees and shrubs from all over the world). You can sample some of the best cuisine in Italy, with mouth-watering dishes like “risotto con pesce persico” made from the lake’s fish. (mmmmm!)

National History Park, Haiti

This National History Complex including The Citadel Laferrire, The Palace of Sans-Souci and the buildings of Ramiers is the largest fortress in the Western Hemisphere. These Haitian monuments date from the beginning of the 19th century, when Haiti proclaimed its independence and became a free republic. The monuments serve as universal symbols of liberty, being the first monuments to be constructed by black slaves who had gained their freedom.

The Citadelle Laferrierre is a massive stone mountaintop fortress, built by up to 20,000 enslaved workers between 1805 and 1820 as part of a system of fortifications designed to keep the newly-independent nation of Haiti safe from French incursions.

Sans Souci was ruined by the earthquake that destroyed Cap Haitien in 1842. Today it is in ruins but it is still worth seeing and the shell of the building remains intact giving an idea of its grandeur

Baroque Belvedere Palace , Vienna Gallry

The Belvedere is a baroque palace complex built by Prince Eugene of Savoy in the 3rd district of Vienna, south-east of the city centre. The Belvedere Palace has always been regarded as one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in Europe. The Palaces’ architecture and interior design are typical for Rococo style.

The design was done by one of the two most famous architects of Austrian Baroque: Johann Lukas von Hidebrandt(1668 to 1745) – the other being Johann Bernhard Fisher von Erlach.

The dress of your wedding

The dress of your wedding must match to the theme and location of your wedding. It mostly depends on the type of wedding you are having; you might go for a stunning gown or go with a traditional wedding dress. Your body figure also impacts your choice of a wedding dress, but this shouldn’t worry you because dresses come in different designs and sizes. Color is also something you might want to think about while planning your wedding dress, as if you don’t do this then your dress might look ridiculous and out of place on your wedding.

Everybody wants their wedding to be unique in some sort of way. As an important part of weddings is your dress, you could make that unique by adding beading and embroidery to it. One thing should be kept in mind though, that hand stitched dresses can cost a fortune, so always be careful on what you order. Beading is mostly used to grab attention to your best features, be it your slim waist, or shapely bust.

There are some general rules of thumb that need to be followed when it comes to body shape. First of all, don’t be deceived by flattery. Try to be realistic about every dress you try on, and simply avoid the ones out side of your budget. If you are going off to buy an off the rack dress, wait until the last month to do that because your shape may change. When you have bought the dress, maintain your weight. The most common and drastic mistake brides do is that they buy a smaller dress, and hope that it fits them when the time comes.
